What drives you to create?

Creating has always been my way of distinguishing who I am from who I want to be. When I’m not making art, I get lost in the norms of society — creation is my salvation.

What inspires you?

I draw inspiration almost always from the people around me. Sometimes my paintings are portraits of beauty — beautiful works representing beautiful souls. Other times, they are born from darker moments. These pieces allow me to give shape to discomfort rather than keeping it bottled up inside.

How do you bring your works to life?

I’m still experimenting. Watercolour has always been my medium, but lately I’ve started working with acrylic on canvas. It’s helping me discover a style that gives me far greater expressive freedom.

I can’t sit properly to save my life. At some point, you’ll definitely find me twisted on the floor, deep into something oddly specific for a painting — and then, of course, complaining that my back hurts.
