I’m a seeker of visual emotions ✨

What drives you to create?

I create as if it were a physical need… if I don’t, something inside me jams. Art is my way of observing the world, giving it meaning, returning it a form. Often I start without knowing where I’m going. I’m drawn to the moment when something intimate becomes universal. I search for a rhythm, a visual emotion.
Behind each work lies a tension between control and surrender, and each time it’s different, each time I surprise myself. It’s a silent dialogue with myself, with what I cannot say in words, and with the viewer. Creation is my way of staying attentive.

What inspires you?

Inspiration comes when it wants. I simply wait… sometimes for days, but when the moment comes, the work emerges in hours, occasionally in days, rarely in weeks.

How do you bring your works to life?

Everything starts from intuition, a sudden instinct that strikes me. From there, I begin to build, often without a precise direction. I let the process flow, surrounding myself with colors, brushes, and spatulas that I pick up along the way. There’s always a phase where I lose myself, but it’s precisely there that something happens. It’s a continuous dialogue between intention and chance, instinct and reflection. Only when I feel the work “breathing” do I know it is alive.

I paint best in the evening with music, often lying on the floor.
There’s a spot, not very secret or hidden, above the Porta Santa Maria parking lot where I’ve sat since I was a child, watching time pass. It’s my favorite place.
