Sometimes someone notices what’s happening around us and points it out to the person next to them; this is how we become aware of the beauty surrounding us — of its fragility and majesty — and of how fleeting our existence truly is, as we grow ever more distant and alienated from the places to which our soul belongs.

What drives you to create?

I’m a landscape photographer, and I often draw inspiration from a phrase that perfectly captures the essence of my work: “Sometimes someone notices what’s happening around us and points it out to the person next to them; this is how we become aware of the beauty surrounding us — of its fragility and majesty — and of how fleeting our existence truly is, as we grow ever more distant and alienated from the places to which our soul belongs.”

What inspires you?

I’m fascinated by the abstract forms that nature presents to us — forms that often go unnoticed — as well as by northern and high mountain landscapes, which are my greatest passion. Through my images, I try to raise awareness by telling stories of nature’s strength and fragility, using a visual language that bridges the vastness of landscapes and the intimacy of the abstract forms hidden within them.

How do you bring your works to life?

I plan every photographic outing with great care. I study how the light will fall on the landscape using 3D simulations, decide which lenses to bring, and consider which subject to shoot at different times of day. And yet, despite all the planning, it’s often not enough to capture the image I had in mind — and that’s the magic of it. Each time, the landscape surprises me, challenging my photographer’s eye in unexpected ways. I meticulously select my images, and the very best are produced as certified Fine Art prints in limited editions — to create something truly unique.

To capture many of my images, I’ve had to learn skills like mountaineering and rock climbing.
Not far from Lucca — the Vetricia Plateau.
