Nicola Sciarpa

Pure noise, pure chaos

What drives you to create?

My music comes to life through experimentation — the urge to discover sounds I’ve never heard before. Through sound, I want to describe a feeling, an image, or sometimes both. What matters most is being able to transmit that sensation through the music.

What inspires you?

It comes from a need — the need to communicate with others. In my creative process, I bring my life experiences, the people I’ve met, and the emotions they’ve stirred in me. Turning these sensations into music helps me find that initial spark from which everything else grows.

How do you bring your works to life?

I play. I sit in front of my synthesizers and start improvising, listening to what comes from the instruments and from within myself. The dialogue between me and my instrument — whether it’s a piano or a synthesizer — is essential. The touch, the movement, the feedback between me and the machine create new ideas.

I owe my stage name to a Russian engineer.
